Why We Love It

There is something different about an old devotional image.

Before Catholic art became something we intentionally styled into our homes, images like this simply **belonged there**—above a dresser, beside a family crucifix, near the kitchen table, or tucked into the corner where generations stopped to pray.

We love the softness of this particular image of Christ, but especially the radiant Sacred Heart at its center. The aged paper, tiny signs of wear, and 1951 marking remind us that this piece has already lived a life before finding its way to Our Lady's Attic.

And that is exactly why we rescue these pieces.

Sacred art doesn't need to be new to be beautiful. Sometimes its history makes it even more meaningful.

Historical Note
