Vintage Pearl Glaze Praying Madonna Statue | Blessed Mother Ceramic Figurine
To Jesus Through Mary

There is something especially peaceful about this vintage Madonna.
Depicted with her head gently bowed and hands folded in prayer, the Blessed Mother has been sculpted with long, graceful lines and a serene expression. A creamy white glaze with a subtle pearlescent finish catches the light in soft shades of pink and ivory, giving the piece an almost luminous quality.
Beautiful on a prayer table, home altar, bedside table, bookshelf, or tucked among favorite Catholic books and rosaries, she is the kind of sacred piece that can quietly transform an ordinary corner of the home into a place that draws the heart back toward prayer.
As a vintage piece, she also carries the charm we love most at Our Lady’s Attic: something once treasured, rediscovered, and ready to become part of another Catholic home.
Why We Love It
We love the simplicity of this Madonna. There are no elaborate colors or embellishments competing for attention—just Mary, quietly at prayer.
Her bowed head and folded hands are a beautiful visual reminder of Our Lady’s humility, trust, and willingness to continually turn toward God. The iridescent glaze makes her especially lovely when displayed near a window, candle, or lamp, where the finish takes on a subtle glow.
And, of course, we couldn't resist styling her beside a rosary. 🤍
A Little History
Pearlescent and iridescent ceramic religious figures became especially popular during the mid-20th century, when devotional statues were commonly displayed in bedrooms, family prayer spaces, and home shrines.
This piece is hollow ceramic and bears a handwritten marking on the underside that appears to read something similar to “Loret 65.” The marking may indicate an artist, maker, mold notation, or date, but because we cannot definitively identify its origin, we prefer not to attribute it to a particular manufacturer or year.
That little handwritten mark does add another layer of character, though—the evidence that this was not simply pulled from a modern production line.
Condition
Vintage/pre-owned condition with a beautiful glossy pearlescent finish. From the photos, I’m not seeing any obvious major chips, cracks, or repairs. Minor variations, surface marks, or signs of age should be expected with a vintage ceramic piece and are part of its history.
